What is ISOFP and where does it operate?
ISOFP — the International Society of Financial Professionals — is a not-for-profit certification body founded in the United States in 2010 and expanded into Asia in 2020. It operates across four active markets: China, Singapore, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, with over 16,000 certified members globally. ISOFP is Asia’s leading professional certification body for financial practitioners in private banking, wealth management, corporate banking, credit risk, and digital finance.
ISOFP offers three active wealth management certifications: the Executive Certified Wealth Management Advisor (eCWMA), the Certified Wealth Management Advisor (CWMA), and the Certified Christian Wealth Manager (CCWM). These programs are designed for private bankers, relationship managers, and financial advisors serving High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs) across Asia. Two additional certifications — the Certified Private Banking Advisor (CPBA) and Certified Personal Finance Advisor (CPFA) — are in development.
The Certified Credit Risk Analyst (CCRA) is ISOFP’s flagship certification for China’s banking sector, offered at three levels: Assistant Certified Credit Risk Analyst (ACCRA), Certified Credit Risk Analyst (CCRA), and Senior Certified Credit Risk Analyst (SCCRA). As of 2024, over 30,000 professionals from China’s state-owned commercial banks, joint-stock banks, city commercial banks, rural commercial banks, and rural credit cooperatives hold CCRA certification. The program is administered in China through a dedicated Standards Board and is recognised by several financial institutions as a standard requirement for credit role promotions.

The Certified SME Lending Analyst (CSLA) is an ISOFP certification specifically designed for SME lending and microfinance professionals in China. The program covers microfinance theory and practice, SME credit operations, internet finance, institutional management, professional ethics, regulatory compliance, and SME lending strategy. The curriculum is delivered in Mandarin with dedicated Chinese-language textbooks tailored to China’s regulatory and banking environment.

MEMBER STORIES

Real results from certified professionals across Asia

Financial professionals from China to Indonesia share how ISOFP certifications advanced their practice and their careers.

The capstone project pushed me to articulate my entire advisory philosophy in writing — grounded in both professional excellence and biblical principles. It was challenging but deeply rewarding. I now have a clear framework I share with every new client.
SK Samuel Koh External Asset Manager, Singapore CCWM certified
As a Christian in financial services, I always felt a tension between my faith and my work. The CCWM resolved that completely. I now see my advisory role as a calling — and my clients sense that authenticity in every meeting.
RO Rachel Ong Insurance Agent, Singapore CCWM certified
I have done many wealth management programs but none that addressed the why behind what I do. The CCWM helped me articulate my God-given purpose as an advisor — and my clients can feel the difference in every conversation.
DT David Tan Wealth Manager, Singapore CCWM certified
The Journey of Generosity day was unlike anything I have experienced in professional training. It helped me understand my own relationship with wealth — and gave me a completely new way to approach legacy conversations with clients.
GL Grace Lim Private Banker, Singapore CCWM certified
The CCWM was transformative — professionally and personally. It helped me integrate my faith authentically into my advisory practice. My conversations with HNW clients now go well beyond portfolios into legacy and stewardship.
JC Jonathan Cheah Independent Financial Advisor, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia CCWM certified
I came in as an insurance agent with limited investment knowledge. The CWMA gave me the confidence to have real wealth conversations — not just product conversations. My clients now see me as a trusted advisor, not just a salesperson.
MN Michelle Ng Insurance Agent, Singapore CWMA certified
The five wealth seasons framework changed how I approach every client review. I now have a structured way to position advice based on where each client is in their financial journey — and clients notice the difference.
RS Rahul Sharma Wealth Management Advisor, Mumbai, India CWMA certified
What I valued most was the combination of capital markets knowledge and soft skills in one program. Most training focuses on one or the other — the CWMA covers both, and the practitioners who delivered it brought real credibility.
AP Ariana Putri Private Banking Advisor, Jakarta, Indonesia CWMA certified
The CWMA was the most comprehensive training I have attended as an IFA. Five days felt intensive but every session built on the last — by Day 5 I had a complete advisory system I could immediately take back to my clients.
TL Tan Li Ying Independent Financial Advisor, Singapore CWMA certified
